UNCG cross country teams wrap-up seasons at NCAA Southeast Regional meet

GREENVILLE, NC – The UNC Greensboro cross country teams wrapped up their seasons on Saturday with the men finishing 27th and the women placing 19th at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet hosted by East Carolina University.

On the women’s side, Heidi Pinkerton was UNCG’s top finisher, placing 91st among the 205 runners. She finished the six-kilometer course with a season-best time of 22:43.0. Jess Weber was next for the Spartans with a time of 23:36.1, good for 138th place. Mary Ann Rutz placed 147th with a time of 23:56.8.

Josh Wyatt led UNCG’s men’s squad with a time of 32:54.8 on the 10-kilometer course, which put him in a 125th place individually.  Keith Gruchacz was the Spartans’ next finisher with a time of 33:14.4, good for 138th place. Teammate Nicolas Vaccaro finished immediately after with a time of 33:15.7. All three of the times were personal bests for the three runners.
