Finney named to SoCon All-Tournament team
BOONE, N.C. – For her efforts earlier this weekend, UNCG senior Kayren Finney was named to the 2010 All-Tournament Team as the Southern Conference Championships.
The team wasn't announced until after the conclusion of the finals match, where Georgia Southern defeated College of Charleston, 3-0.
The senior from Danville, Va. had double-digit kills in both of the Spartans' matches at the tournament. In the quarterfinal win against Furman, Finney posted 13 kills and four blocks, while posting a .478 hitting percentage.
Against College of Charleston in the semifinals, Finney had 11 kills and a match-high five blocks.
For the weekend, Finney had 24 kills for a 2.67 kills per set average. She also recorded a team-high .391 hitting percentage. She also led UNCG with nine blocks in the two matches.
