Spartans set to hold Blue/Gold scrimmage on Saturday
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG volleyball team will be putting its talents on display for the first this season as the Spartans will hold their first annual Blue/Gold scrimmage on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Fleming Gymnasium.
All fans are encouraged to attend the event as it is open to the public.
The teams will play a best two out of three sets with the third set being a 15-point set.
The Gold team will consist of Billi Baker, Samantha Deutchman, Kayren Finney, Ari Lysacek, Arielle Newman and Kellie Orewiler. Student assistant coach Emily Lindborg will also play for the gold team.
Alissa Beaudway, Karrian Chambers, Olivia Humphries, Lara Keyes, Kimiko Naito, Caley Redden, Karen Stedman and Savannah Tomlinson will comprise the Blue team. Assistant coach Laura Tomes will also be on the blue team.
The Spartans will open their season on Aug. 27 against Navy at the Spartan Classic on the campus of Norfolk State.
