GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro junior libero Catherine Hanners was named to the Southern Conference Volleyball All-Tournament Team for her play in the tournament.
Hanners registered 41 digs over UNCG's two SoCon tournament matches, averaging 5.86 per set. The Richmond, VA, native also rattled off four service aces, good for 0.57 per set.
In a 3-0 win over Georgia Southern in the quarterfinals on Friday, Hanners had 15 digs and two service aces, both match highs. In a 3-1 loss to College of Charleston in the semifinals on Saturday, Hanners turned in match highs of 26 digs and two service aces.
Hanners was joined on the all-tournament team by Samford's Ashley Adams, College of Charleston's Elyse Chubb and Cole Dawley and Furman's Emily Harby, Nicole Palazzo and Alison West. West was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after leading the Paladins to the tournament title.
The Spartans finished the season with a 23-10 overall record and a 14-4 record in SoCon play.
