Fuller named to Academic All-District III Third Team

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro's Branagan Fuller was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Third Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced.

Fuller, a junior outside hitter, owns a 3.35 gpa and is majoring in business marketing. The award is the first of its kind for the Murrieta, Calif., native. She is joined on the third team by student-athletes from Duke, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida State, Jacksonville and William & Mary.

A North Carolina Sports Information Association All-State player last year as a sophomore, Fuller leads the Spartans with 327 kills this season. Her 3.14 kills-per-game average is good for seventh in the Southern Conference. She also has 292 digs on the year.

Fuller and the Spartans are 18-9 overall and 10-4 in the SoCon to stand second in the North Division.

To be nominated for a position on the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve and have at least a 3.30 gpa on a 4.0 scale. The student-athlete must also have reached sophomore athletic standing.

The Spartans return to action at 7 p.m. Saturday in Greenville, S.C., for a match at Furman.
