UNCGs Kaitlyn Nortz and Branagan Fuller named to all-state volleyball squad
GREENSBORO, NC – After earning their second consecutive berth in the Southern Conference volleyball tournament title game, junior middle blocker Kaitlyn Nortz and outside hitter Branagan Fuller were named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Volleyball Team.

The squad consists of students from NCAA Division I colleges and universities throughout the state. North Carolina sports information professionals submitted nominees and NCCSIA members selected the teams. The all-state team consists of one setter, three outside hitters, two middle hitters/blockers, one right-side/opposite hitter and one libero/defensive specialist.
Nortz, a junior from Parma, OH is a two-time all-state selection and helped led the Spartans to their second consecutive appearance in the Southern Conference tournament finals. The middle blocker averaged 3.39 kills per game and a team-high 1.24 blocks per game. She earned second team All-SoCon honors and is third on UNCG all-time blocks list with 386 career blocks.
Fuller, a sophomore outside hitter from Murrieta, CA was one of UNCG’s top offensive threats this season. The outside hitter set UNCG all-time kills record this season with 543 kills and averaged 4.05 kills for the Spartans throughout the season. For her efforts the sophomore was named to the Southern Conference All-Tournament team.
UNCG concluded the season with a 20-15 record and an 11-7 SoCon record, its best record since joining the league in 1997. The Spartans earned a trip to the Southern Conference finals after defeating the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, its second consecutive trip to the finals.
