GREENSBORO, NC – Senior Theresa Hart was awarded All-Southern Conference First Team honors on Wednesday by the conference coaches. The coaches’ selections are based on nominations from their teams. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.
Hart, the first-ever Spartan to earn All-SoCon honors since the school joined the conference prior to the 1997 season, transferred to UNCG at the beginning of the season from San Francisco. In her only season at UNCG, Hart, a senior from San Juan Capistrano, CA, has accumulated a total of 491 kills on the season and has moved into second place on the school’s single season kills list.
She also demolished the kills per game record as she currently stands at 4.23 per game. She sits in second in the conference in kills per game and points per game. She is also second on the team in total digs as well as third on the squad in service aces.
The Spartans are currently 21-12 overall and finished 9-9 in conference play. The club notched its first 20-win season since 1995 and also grabbed their first SoCon tournament victory after defeating The Citadel, 3-0, on Thursday.
