Women’s track & field program named All-Academic
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's track & field team was named an All-Academic team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Thursday. The men's program earned the same honor on Wednesday by the USTFCCCA.
The women's team, who also earned All-Academic honors by the USTFCCCA during the cross country season, were one of seven programs from the Southern Conference to claim the award.
In order to earn the honor, the team had to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 of better. The women's team finished the season with a 3.27 GPA as they were one of 164 institutions who earned the award nationally.
Last week, senior Ashley Schnell was honored by the USTFCCCA as an individual member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
The University of Texas won the Scholar Team of the Year award for the indoor season and Oklahoma won the same honor for the outdoor season.
