SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UNC Greensboro graduate student Katie Hansen has been named the Southern Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for all meets January 22-23. The selections are made by the league's track and field coaches.
Hansen, competing in her first event as a Spartan, finished second in the 3,000 meters at the prestigious Niswonger Invitational. A native of Portland , Ore., Hansen's time of 10:05.98 broke the school record by 26 seconds.
The Spartans return to action this weekend as they compete at the UNC Open on Friday and Saturday.
