Relay teams propel Spartans on first day of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, NC – UNC Greensboro’s men and women’s 4x1500 meter relay teams were the top performers for the Spartans on day one of the Raleigh Relays on Friday afternoon.

The women’s 4x1500 meter team ran the relay in 19:58.85 to break the previous school record by almost a minute and a half.

The men’s relay team combined to turn in a time of 16:52.30, which is good enough for the second-fastest time in school history.

Another top performer during the first day of competition was Latrese Bristol. Her time of 1:07.47 in the 400 meters was the fourth fastest time in school history.

The Spartans will return to competition tomorrow for the second and final day of the Raleigh Relays. Action will get underway at 10 a.m. on the campus of NC State.
