GREENSBORO, NC – The UNC Greensboro track and field teams competed in the field events in first day action at the International Friendship and Freedom Games held on the campus of North Carolina A&T.
Jeremy Cannon took first place in the men’s javelin with a throw of 45.36 meters outdistancing his competitor, Jesse Fox from North Carolina A&T by over one meter. Cannon, who has only thrown twice this year, currently has the fourth best throw in the Southern Conference.
The Spartans had four women participating in the long jump but each fouled their jumps. Ramon Jobson Brown also participated in the men’s long jump but also fouled his jump.
The Spartans will continue action at the 2008 International Friendship and Freedom Games on Saturday.
