Weber named to ESPN The Magazine/ CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro’s Jess Weber has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Track and Field/Cross Country All-District III First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for her athletic and academic achievements.

Weber, who is now eligible for consideration for the Academic All-America teams, is currently working on her master's degree in conflict resolution and is carrying a 4.00 grade point average in her graduate level courses. She is a five year member of the Southern Conference All-Academic Team and her selection marks her third consecutive Academic All-District Selection.

The Lofton, VA native just completed her final season of eligibility and is UNCG’s school record holder in the indoor 800 meters (2.21.75) and the mile (5:13.71) while also holding outdoor records in the 800 meters (2:17.81) and the 1500 meters (4:44.97). She is also a member of the distance medley relay and the 4 x 400 meter relay that currently hold school records.

Weber was UNCG’s top runner in the 800 and 3000 meters during the indoor season and took home sixth place at the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships in the 1500 meters.

Weber is joined by Brenna Burns from Davidson, Lauren Bosshardt from Wofford and Katelyn Ealer from Elon as the only members from the Southern Conference to earn first team selections. The Academic All-America teams will be announced later this month.
