LYNCHBURG, VA – The UNC Greensboro 4x 800 relays finished in first and second place as the Spartans opened the indoor season at the Liberty On Track Open on Friday afternoon.
The UNCG men’s 4 x 800 relay team took first place with a time of 8:01.09 outpacing the second place team from Mary Washington by nearly 12 seconds. The women’s team took second place with a time of 10:10.64 which placed them behind the first place squad from Virginia who took the race with a time of 9:31.30.
Ryan Solomon was the only other UNCG runner to compete on Friday. The Hope Mills, NC native, ran the 5000m and took 13th place with a time of 17:34.22.
The Spartans will continue action at the Liberty on Track Open on Saturday.
