UNCG men off to strong start at SoCon Championship

BOONE, NC – UNC Greensboro recorded three top-10 finishes on the opening day of the 2007 Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

 All three of the top-10 finishes came on the men’s side. Josh Wyatt finished fifth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:42.99. Ryan Ross was sixth in the steeplechase with a time of 9:56.10, while Ramon Jobson-Brown finished eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.42 meters.

Only one Spartan competed on the women’s side on Saturday. Carly Magin finished 12th in the steeplechase.

The Spartans men are sixth in the standings after the first day, while the women are 11th.

The meet continues Sunday morning at 8 am.
