Trio of top-10 finishes highlights UNCG's showing at Carolina Invitational
CHAPEL HILL, NC – Nick Vaccaro and Xavier Rutz recorded top-10 finishes in the mile and Josh Wyatt logged a top-10 in the 3,000 meters to highlight UNC Greensboro’s day at the Carolina Invitational on Saturday.
Vaccaro, a senior from Hillsborough, NJ, was fourth in the mile with a time 4:21.44, followed closely behind by Rutz at 4:21.68.
Jeff Williams, who has won 800 meter races in the first two meets of the season, placed 11th in the 400 meters on Saturday, recording a time of 50.31.
On the women’s side, Tessa Dispenette and Naomi Damours had top-20 finishes in the 3,000 meters. Dispennette, a sophomore from Pittsboro, NC, was 14th with a time of 11:09.76, while Damours placed 17th with a time of 11:29.15.
UNCG returns to action in two weeks when it competes at the Southern Conference Indoor Track Championships in Clemson, SC, on Feb. 17 and 18.
