Nine UNCG student-athletes named to Academic All-Conference team

SPARTANBURG, SC – Nine UNCG students were named to the TIAA-CREF Academic All-Conference teams for the 2006-07 winter season. A total of 118 student-athletes, representing all Southern Conference institutions, were named to the team.

Among the nine Spartan student-athletes, junior Jasmine Dixon of the women’s basketball team recorded an UNCG best 4.00 grade point average.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the spring of 2007 and have competed in at least one-half of their team’s competitions during the winter.

This is the fourth year that the Southern Conference has named an All-Academic Team by season.  The all-academic teams are made possible by a grant from the Southern Conference’s Education Partner, TIAA-CREF.
