SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Southern Conference today named UNC Greensboro’s Jess Weber as the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 29.
Weber, a junior track and field athlete, broke her own school record in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:45.08 last Saturday at the Raleigh Relays.
The Lorton, VA, native bested her previous mark set in April of 2005 by almost three seconds (4:47.84). Weber’s time in the 1500 meters is currently the second-best time in the SoCon outdoor track and field rankings.
Weber, a product of Hayfield HS, carries a 3.96 cumulative GPA as an elementary education major.
