SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After going undefeated in the month of February, sophomore Niltooli Wilkins has been named the Southern Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Month, the league office announced on Thursday.
Wilkins started her career at UNCG with a perfect 5-0 mark, all at the No. 1 singles position. The transfer from the University of Minnesota went 4-0 during the month of February in singles.
Her success also pushed UNCG to a 4-0 mark in the month, with a 2-0 mark in Southern Conference matches, including a win over No. 74 Samford.
Wilkins has been equally impressive in doubles with teammate Lucy Dougherty. The two won all four of their doubles matches in the month to go along with her perfect record in singles.
Wilkins and her teammates will return to action on Wednesday as they host UNC Wilmington at 2:30 p.m. at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
