Sutherland and Rios win in doubles action as play closes at Kitty Harrison

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNCG's doubles tandem of Devon Sutherland and Annette Rios earned the only win of the day for the Spartans on Sunday in the final day of action at the Kitty Harrison Invitiational.

 

The Spartans were paired up with singles play against Virginia and doubles against Princeton. The Cavaliers swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Princeton won two of three doubles pro-sets against UNCG. The Spartans' lone win of the day came from Rios and Sutherland in an 8-3 win over the Tigers' Blakely Ashley and Caitlin Bartlett.

 

The Kitty Harrison Invitational is the final event on the Spartans' fall slate. UNCG opens the spring dual match season on January 30 at Virginia Tech.
