CHARLESTON, S.C. - Trailing the match 3-2, Charleston Southern won a pair of three-set thrillers to turn away UNC Greensboro, 4-3, in nonconference women's tennis action Tuesday afternoon.
After UNCG's Valerie Behr, Annette Rios and Sasha Skirpkina recorded straight set wins in singles play to give UNCG a 3-2 lead, Charleston Southern won a pair of matches in decisive third sets. Andrea Schutte defeated Stephanie Macfarlane at No. 2 singles, 5-7, 6-0 and 6-3, while Marija Dzakovic topped Mikayla Rogers, 6-3, 2-6 and 6-2, at No. 4 singles.
Charleston Southern remained a perfect 6-0 on the season, while UNCG dropped to 5-2 on the spring campaign.
UNCG returns to the courts on Wednesday when they visit Coastal Carolina.
