Zabkar, Redelinghuys, Vaccaro named asst. coaches

GREENSBORO, NC – The UNC Greensboro athletic department announced three part-time assistant coaching additions to various sport staffs, all of which are former student-athletes returning to assist their former teams. Erica Zabkar has been added as an assistant women's tennis coach, Martin Redelinghuys has been added as a part time men's tennis coach, and Nicolas Vaccaro has been added as an assistant in the cross country and track programs.

Zabkar, a native of Atlanta, GA, finished her playing career at UNCG last spring. She set a UNCG freshman record for wins in 2004-05 with 23, which was also tied a single-season record. She tied that record again in 2006-07 before it was broken last year by teammate Alejandra Guerra. Zabkar finished her career with a mark of 86-50 in singles play, including three 20-win campaigns. She earned All-SoCon honors in doubles as a junior.

Redelinghuys, a native of Cape Town, South Africa, played for UNCG the last three seasons after transferring from UNLV. He played the Nos. 2 and 3 singles positions for the Spartans and was a part of UNCG's top doubles duo all three seasons. He recorded 31 wins in singles action during his three seasons.

Vaccaro was a four-year member of UNCG's men's cross country and track and field programs. In his cross country career, he has posted several top times in both the 8K and 10K. Two of Vaccaro's fastest 8K times still rank among UNCG's cross country leaders. His career-best 8K time of 25:33 ran at the 2006 George Mason Invitational is seventh all-time in the program's history. He also holds UNCG's record for the indoor mile and the outdoor 1,500 meters. Vaccaro was also a part of the school record quartet for the 4x400-meter relay.
