Guerra, VonStrolley advance to quarterfinals at ITA
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - UNC Greensboro's duo of Alejandra Guerra and Arielle VonStrolley advanced to the quarterfinal round at the ITA Southeast Regional to highlight action on the Wake Forest campus Saturday afternoon.
Guerra and VonStrolley defeated Laura Reichert and Haley Menn of North Carolina, 9-8, with a 7-3 score in the tiebreaker. They will face Ashley Murdock and Marjorie Ondeck from Memphis in the quarterfinal on Sunday.
Guerra was knocked out of the singles bracket in the round of 32 on Saturday. After winning the first set, Guerra lost to Vanderbilt's Keilly Ulery, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4 in the tiebreaker), 6-2.
The doubles quarterfinals will begin on Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by the singles quarter finals.
