MALIBU, Calif. – UNC Greensboro senior Alejandra Guerra won her first two matches in pre-qualifying singles action at the 2008 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships on the Pepperdine campus Saturday afternoon.
Guerra, ranked No. 114 in the preseason ITA rankings and seeded No. 13 in the pre-qualifying bracket, started the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Amanda Craddock of Texas. Guerra who has now won 21 of her last 22 matches going back to last February, closed out the day with a three-set win Alison Ramos of Southern California, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Play continues on Sunday when Guerra takes on Wichita State's Lutflana Budiharto at 12 noon PT.
