UNCG wins fourth straight, beats Elon
ELON, N.C. – UNC Greensboro won five of six singles matches, all in straight sets, to top backyard-rival Elon, 5-2, in Southern Conference women's tennis action Wednesday afternoon.
Alejandra Guerra, Arielle VonStrolley, Britney Cloer, Lucy Dougherty and Jessica Eblen all won in straight sets. Dougherty had the easiest time, topping Whitney Butcher, 6-0 and 6-2, at No. 5 singles. Guerra, ranked No. 68 in the nation, rank her mark to 15-6 on the season, including 5-2 this spring.
With the win, UNCG ran its record to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in Southern Conference play. The Spartans have now won four straight matches. UNCG is slated hosted to Coastal Carolina on Friday.
