WILMINGTON, NC – Alejandra Guerra won her second title of the weekend, earning the championship in Singles Flight A at the UNCW Women’s Tennis Invitational on Sunday.
Guerra, a junior from Tampico, Mexico, topped Coastal Carolina’s Amy Pazahanick by identical 6-2 scores to win the Flight A title. On Saturday, Guerra, a transfer from North Carolina State, teamed with Arielle VonStrolley to win the doubles Flight A.
In other championship bracket action, Erica Zabkar lost a heartbreaker in the Flight B final. The senior from Atlanta, GA lost to Kayla Schwenk of UNC Wilmington, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 with a 10-8 score in the third-set 10-point tiebreaker.
UNCG concludes its fall schedule with the weekend tournament and will resume action on January 18 at North Carolina.
