UNCG picks up four singles wins on first day at Charlotte Fall Classic

CHARLOTTE, NC - UNC Greensboro won four singles matches against Charlotte in the first day of competition at the Charlotte Fall Classic Women's Tennis Tournament.

UNCG's top four singles players earned victories on Friday. Alejandra Guerra defeated Ana Spivakorsky in straight sets, 7-6 and 6-1, at the top flight. Arielle VonStrolley rallied to top Yudeshnee Pilay , 3-6, 6-2 and 10-8 in the 10-point tiebreaker. Valerie Behr, meanwhile, had to stave off a late rally to defeat Koren Fleming, 7-5, 4-6, and 10-5 in the tiebreaker.

Senior Erica Zabkar had the easiest time, rolling past Michelle Alexander, 6-1 and 6-2.

Play continues tomorrow when UNCG will face Georgia State and Furman in flighted action.
