GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to win four singles matches in straight sets to pick up a 4-3 win over backyard-rival High Point in women’s tennis action Wednesday afternoon.
The Spartans (7-8) got straight-set wins by Arielle VonStrolley, Valerie Behr, Erica Zabkar and Jessica Eblen to earn the victory. VonStrolley topped Audrey LePoitier by identical 6-2 scores, while Zabkar blasted Rebecca Carr, 6-3 and 6-0. In addition, Valerie Behr topped Carolina Mount, who retired in the second set down 5-0 after losing the opener 6-2, and Jessica Eblen topped Lea Cataonzano, 6-4 and 6-0.
UNCG returns to action on Thursday when they visit Davidson for a Southern Conference match-up.
