Cloer's rally clinches UNCG's 4-3 win over Charlotte
GREENSBORO, NC – Britney Cloer rallied to top Candace Cunningham at No. 4 singles to clinch the match as UNC Greensboro topped Charlotte, 4-3, in women’s tennis action on Friday afternoon.
Cloer lost the opening set, 6-4, before winning the next two, 6-2 and 6-0, to give the Spartans’ the deciding fourth point. UNCG began the day with a 1-0 lead by sweeping all three doubles matches. Alejandra Guerra and Erica Zabkar then earned straight-set singles wins at the Nos. 1 and 5 slots to give UNCG a 3-2 lead. Cloer wrapped up the win when she completed her comeback win over Cunningham.
UNCG (4-6) returns to action on Monday when it plays host to UNC Wilmington for a 2 pm match.
