Weather suspends play at Elon Tennis Invitiational against Saturday, tournament wiped out
ELON, NC - For the second straight year, the Elon Fall Tennis Invitiationals have fallen victim to the weather as play was suspended early Saturday morning and the tournament was postponed.
Only 20 matches -- 9 men's and 11 women's -- were completed on Friday before weather delayed the tournament schedule. Rain moved back into the area on Saturday, halting play before it could begin and postponing the tournament indefinately.
The UNCG tennis teams return to action at the ITA Regionals, which will be played this year in Chapel Hill, NC. The women's regional will get underway on Thursday, while the men's regional is played the following week and gets started on October 18.
