WILMINGTON, NC – Erica Zabkar advanced to the championship round in Flight A to highlight UNC Greensboro’s action at the UNC Wilmington Women’s Tennis Invitational on Saturday.
Zabkar, a junior from Atlanta, GA, won twice on Friday and then advanced to the title round by defeated Charlotte’s Ali Piacente on Saturday, 6-4 and 6-1. Zabkar is now 5-0 on the season, having won a singles flight at the Landfall Invitational last weekend in Wilmington.
Zabkar’s teammate Arielle VonStrolley will meet Piacente in a third-place match on Sunday. She lost to Charlotte’s Ana Spivakovsky. Spivakovsky will face Zabkar in the final.
Play resumes at 8:30 am on Sunday.
