UNCG falls to Wofford, 4-3

SPARTANBURG, SC – Erica Zabkar and Courtney Akel both pulled out three-set wins, but it wasn’t enough as UNC Greensboro lost at Wofford, 4-3, in Southern Conference women’s tennis action on Saturday afternoon.

Zabkar, a junior from Atlanta, GA, held on for a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 win over Adriane Hodges at No. 2 singles. Akel, meanwhile, rallied to beat Sabrina Smyers, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 4 singles. The Spartans (5-5, 1-1) also picked up a walkover win at No. 6 singles, but the Terriers (3-6, 1-2) won the other three singles matches and won the doubles point to pick up their first SoCon win of the season.
