Templeton highlights UNCG in 2005 Wolfpack Invitational in women’s tennis

RALEIGH, NC – Freshman Sarah Templeton qualified for the Flight D singles final match after she ousted NC State’s L. Barry 6-4, 6-3 in her quarterfinal match.  Templeton will meet Armstrong Atlantic University’s K. Kelly Sunday at 9:45 am to determine the flight’s champion.

In flight B singles action, sophomore Erica Zabkar fell to Coastal Carolina’s A. Pazahanick 6-3, 7-6 in the consolation bracket. 

Zabkar, playing doubles with teammate Lisa Suggs, lost their doubles A semifinal match with Armstrong Atlantic University’s Cowper and Stupuk 8-2.  Whitney Miles and Sophie Rychlik also fell in their doubles A semifinal match, losing to High Point’s Talus and Carr.

Lourdes Moran and Templeton also fell in doubles as the combo dropped an 8-5 decision to East Tennessee State’s Batsula and Byrnz in B doubles action.

The tournament concludes tomorrow.
