UNCG eliminated by College of Charleston, 4-1, at SoCon Women's Tennis Tourney

CHARLESTON, SC – Erica Zabkar picked up a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, but it was UNC Greensboro’s lone point of the match as College of Charleston eliminated sixth-seeded UNCG, 4-1, in the quarterfinal round of the 2006 Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championship on Friday afternoon at the Farmfield Tennis Center.

Zabkar, a sophomore from Atlanta, GA, defeated Amanda Becker, 6-2 and 6-1. However, the third-seeded Cougars (18-10) won two doubles pro-sets and picked up victories at Nos. 4, 5, and 6 singles to advance to Saturday’s semifinal round.

College of Charleston will take on Davidson at 10 am on Saturday.
