UNCG cruises past Western Carolina, 7-0, in women's tennis; evens SoCon record at 3-3
GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro swept five singles matches in straight sets on its way to a 7-0 win over Western Carolina in Southern Conference women’s tennis action on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans got straight set wins from Emily Wade, Whitney Miles, Erica Zabkar, Lourdes Moran and Sophie Rychlik. Miles, Moran and Rychlik were dominant in their wins. Moran, a senior from Guayaquil, Ecuador, cruised past Holly Slocks, 6-1 and 6-0. Rychlik’s win was even easier as the senior from Lund, Sweden blanked Carley Abbott, 6-0 and 6-0. Miles, a sophomore from Atlanta, GA, also came away with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Susanna Sjokuist.
UNCG (6-9, 3-3 SoCon) hosts Chattanooga in another Southern Conference match-up on Sunday at 12 noon.
