Suggs' three-set win lifts UNCG past Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, GA – Lisa Suggs rallied for a three-set win over Szilvia Zsakay as UNC Greensboro pulled out a 4-3 win over Georgia Southern in Southern Conference women’s tennis action Sunday afternoon.

Suggs, a sophomore from Fayetteville, NC, won the first set in a tie-breaker before dropping the second set, 6-1. However, she rallied to defeat Zsakay in the deciding set, 6-3, to clinch the win.

Also earning singles’ wins were junior Emily Wade and sophomore Erica Zabkar. Zabkar earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over Kim Wollett, while Wade defeated Molly Maddox, 6-0 and 6-4.

UNCG next takes on Princeton in Raleigh, NC on Tuesday.
