Spartans fall to Cal Poly, 4-3, in women's tennis action

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – UNC Greensboro got straight-set wins from Lisa Suggs and Erica Zabkar, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Spartans lost to Cal Poly, 4-3, in women’s tennis action Tuesday.

Suggs won at No. 1 singles over Samantha Walker, 6-4, 6-3, while Zabkar zipped through at No. 4 singles over Maria Malec, 6-0, 6-1. The Spartans’ Whitney Miles also earned a three-set win, rallying to defeat Sheila Lewis at No. 3 singles, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

UNCG concludes its California swing on Thursday when it takes on Cal State Fullerton.
