Zabkar wins twice, but Spartans fall to Wofford, 5-2, in SoCon women's tennis opener

GREENSBORO, NC - UNCG's Erica Zabkar earned wins in singles and doubles action, but Wofford's Cayley Wetzig and Laura Lynn Williams pulled out a pair of three-set wins in singles action to clinch the Terriers' 5-2 win in Southern Conference women's tennis action on Saturday afternoon.

Zabkar, UNCG's No. 4 singles' player, teamed up with Emily Wade for an 8-6 doubles pro-set win and then defeated Ashley Page 6-2 and 7-6, 7-4 in the tiebreaker, in singles action. However Wetzig and Williams earned three-set wins at No. 3 and 5 singles, respectively. That was enough to push Wofford to the win.

UNCG (2-4) returns to action next weekend when it travels cross-country to take on UC-Riverside in the first of three matches on a California road swing.
