UNCG falls to 11th-ranked North Carolina as women's tennis opens spring schedule
CHAPEL HILL, NC – UNC Greensboro opened the spring portion of its 2005-06 season with a 7-0 loss on the road to No. 11 North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
The Tar Heels, which also swept Davidson earlier in the day by a 7-0 score. The double team of Meg Fanjoy and Austin Smith, ranked in the Top 50 in the nation, won its match against Lisa Suggs and Emily Wade, 8-2, and then picked up straight set wins in singles action.
UNCG will face North Carolina State on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh.
