What attracted you to UNCG?
Each time I brought a team to play a spring game at UNCG or came to watch an all-star game I was 'wowed' by the stadium and the surrounding campus. The proud soccer traditions and its history is known throughout the region and to have the chance to be a part of that was extremely intriguing and appealing to me. I believe I can play an important role in Coach Nugent's plans for the program.

Q&A With Soccer Assistant Coach Sammy Towne
Former Auburn standout Sammy Towne joined the UNCG staff as an assistant soccer coach for head coach Steve Nugent. Towne was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Tigers and a two-time team captain as a defender. She led Auburn to four straight winning seasons and NCAA Tournament appearances, totaling 43 wins and 26 shutouts anchoring the Tigers' defense. She played in 84 career games, which ranks second all-time in Auburn history, while her 79 career starts rank 10th all-time.
