Women's soccer weekend matches pushed back a day each
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG's women's soccer games against Chattanooga and Samford have been pushed back one day each because of inclement weather in the Greensboro area. The Spartans will now host the Mocs at 5 p.m. Saturday and the Bulldogs at noon on Monday.
UNCG, the five-time defending Southern Conference champion, had been slated to begin its title defense against Chattanooga (5-1-1, 0-0-0 SoCon) at 7 p.m. Friday at the UNCG Soccer Stadium but will now kick off a doubleheader with the men's soccer team Saturday. The men's game against Gardner-Webb, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., now will get under way at 7:30 p.m.
The Spartans (1-6-0, 0-0-0 SoCon) originally had been scheduled to face Samford (2-5-0, 0-0-0 SoCon) at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Bulldogs' Friday game was also moved, as Samford and Elon will now square off Saturday evening, as well.
Monday's game will be a rematch of the 2010 SoCon Championship title game, which UNCG won 1-0.
