Lopez, Partenheimer take NSCAA Scholar All-South nods

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - UNC Greensboro women's soccer players Lauren Lopez and Jenn Partenheimer were named to the NSCAA/adidas Women's College Scholar All-South Region teams recently.

Lopez earned second-team honors, while Partenheimer was a third-team selection.

Lopez scored five points on a goal and three assists this season and was part of a defense that posted 10 shutouts in 2009. The Concord, N.C., senior was one of 10 national finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and was an NSCAA All-Southeast Region Third Team selection. She also earned a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Second Team.

Lopez sports a 3.94 gpa and is majoring in art with an emphasis in painting.

Partenheimer scored nine points on three goals and three assists on the season and was a first-team All-Southern Conference selection this season. The Apex, N.C., midfielder scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over College of Charleston on Oct. 23 and was a North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association All-State pick.

Partenheimer owns a 3.29 gpa and is majoring in physical education K-12.

UNCG went 13-7 overall and 9-2 in the SoCon this season, winning its fourth straight regular-season league title.
