SPARTANBURG, SC – Sophomore forward Kelly Attayek was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week. Attayek, a native of Raleigh, NC, was awarded due to her standout performance both on and off the field.
She currently holds a 3.92 grade point average and has accumulated 16 points (6g, 4a) so far this season with 32 total shots – 17 of which have been on goal.
Attayek has started seven of 14 games and scored the game-winning goal in the 2-0 victory over Wofford in September and the 2-0 shutout against Furman this past Sunday.
The victory over Furman extended the Spartan’s conference unbeaten streak to 20 games overall, 17 during regular season play.
In the conference, she is third in shots at 3.86 a game, first in points with 14, tied for first in goals with five, and tied for first in game winning goals with two in the Southern Conference
