GREENSBORO, NC – The UNC Greensboro women’s soccer team received votes in Soccer Buzz’s National Preseason Top 30, which was released over the weekend.
The Spartans, who were also ranked No. 7 in the Southeast region, return nine starters from last year’s squad that finished 14-5-1 overall and 9-1-1 in Southern Confernece action, winning the SoCon title for fourth time in school history.
UNCG was the only SoCon team to receive votes in the National Pre-season Top 30. Furman was No. 11 in the regional poll and College of Charleston was No. 15.
UNCG will open the pre-season this Saturday night, August 13 with an exhibition match against Charlotte at UNCG Soccer Stadium beginning at 7 pm. During the preseason, UNCG will also face No. 27 Texas on Aug. 21 and will open the regular season on Sunday, Aug. 26 at No. 9 Duke.
The Spartans will also face No. 21 Wake Forest at home on Friday night, Sept. 16.
