2009-10: Had an incredible redshirt freshman season that saw him win the 141 pound Southern Conference title and advance to the NCAA Championships … had a 33-10 record for the season, including a 4-1 mark in the conference … his 33 wins are tied for the second-most wins in a single season … started the year by winning by winning six matches to claim the 141 pound title at the Virginia Tech Open … also won the 141 pound title at the NC State Open as he defeated four opponents … finished in third place at the UNC Pembroke Open … avenged his lone regular-season loss in the SoCon by defeating Davidson’s Vitaly Radsky in the SoCon Championship finals, 8-3 … fell to a pair of top-20 wrestlers at the NCAA Championships … started the year with an impressive 17-1 record.
2008-09: Sat out as a redshirt season ... had two third-place finishes in the two tournaments he wrestled unattached ... went 5-1 at the Hokie Open to begin the season ... pinned Duke's Dan Adamo in the first period before falling to Virginia Tech's Peter Yates ... he rebounded to win the final two matches to claim third place ... also went 5-1 at the Davidson Open ... had a pair of seven point wins to begin the tournament before defeating Duke's Mike Bell by major decision, 11-1.
High School: 2008 Florida State Champion while attending South Broward High School, wrestling for coach Allen Held... also finished fourth at Super 32 and eighth at senior nationals in 2008... attended Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale during the 2006-07 school year, finishing as the state runner-up... placed third at the state meet in 2006 as a member of South Broward's team.
