GREENSBORO, N.C.—UNCG women's golf team returns to action at the East Carolina Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, Oct. 10-11 at Greenville Country Club.
The Spartans are hoping to continue their strong paly this fall after finishing third last week at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic. The Lady Pirate Intercollegiate features 20 teams playing 36 holes on Monday and 18 more on Tuesday. The field includes nine teams currently ranked in the Golfweek Top 100.
Freshman Fanny Cnops continues to lead the Southern Conference with a 72.50 stroke average. She finished tied for sixth at Starmount, shooting 224 over three rounds despite breaking her driver on the first hole of the second round and sustaining an elbow injury during the final round.
UNCG's Ana Lucia Martinez enjoyed a strong showing at Starmount, finishing tied for ninth by shooting 226 and carding a 1-over par 72 during the final round.
