UNCG prepares for play at Windy City Collegiate
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – UNCG's women's golf team will tee it up in the Midwest on Monday, playing at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Northwestern University.
The Spartans will join tournament host Northwestern, East Carolina, Iowa State, New Mexico, Purdue, San Diego State, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF, and UNC Wilmington in the tournament at Northmoor Country Club.
Seven teams are making a return trip to the Windy City, including UNCG. Two-time reigning champion Purdue, ranked seventh in this week's Golfweek Sagarin rankings, returns to defend its title, but will face stiff competition from a field that boasts seven top-50 teams, including New Mexico (No. 20) and TCU (No. 26). Northwestern enters the tournament ranked 37th, with Texas Tech (No. 40), San Diego State (No. 42) and Iowa State (No. 49) placing among the top-50.
