Taylor's best finish leads UNCG to 10th at UCF

SORRENTO, Fla. - Freshman Courtney Taylor fired a final round 75 to record her second Top 10 of the second and best finish thus far as a Spartan to lead UNC Greensboro to a 10th place finish at the UCF Challenge on Tuesday, played at the RedTail Golf Club.

Taylor, a native of Gastonia, N.C., carded rounds of 74 and 72 on Monday. She followed it up with a 75 on Tuesday. Starting on No. 10, she recorded 10 consecutive pars to open the day before making birdie on the par-5 at No. 2. She bogeyed four of her final six holes however, to fall back to sixth after making a run at the Top 5.

Annelie Weimenhog had the best round of the day for the Spartans, carding a 74. She moved up 14 spots to a tie for 17th place. She started at No. 10, as well, and played the back in 37 to being the day. She then played the front side in 37, as well, stumbling with a double-bogey at No. 8, but finishing the day with birdie at No. 9 to close out the round.

Texas A&M's Julia Boland won the individual honors, shooting a final round 70 for a five-shot victory over teammate Sarah Zwartynski.

Texas A&M won the team title with a score of 893, two shots better than Georgia State and 11 shots in front of Coastal Carolina. The Spartans carded a final round 312 to finish in 10th place.

UNCG returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Augusta, Ga. for the Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, hosted by Augusta State.
