GREENVILLE, S.C. - Sophomore Ana Lucia Martinez had UNC Greensboro's low round of the day with a 75 as the Spartans sit in a tie for seventh after two rounds at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University.
Martinez went out in 39, but played the back 9 in even par 36 with seven pars, one birdie and one bogey - that coming on No. 18 - to finish with a 75. She is tied for 20th place in the individual standings, sitting at 156 for 36 holes along with her teammate Annelie Weimenhog. Weimenhog carded a 76 on Saturday.
The Spartans shot a 307 as a team on Saturday for a score of 627 thus far. Nova Southeastern leads the field with a 611, four shots better than Campbell and six ahead of tournament host Furman.
Nova Southeastern's Sandra Changkija leads the individual scoring. One day after all 94 golfers shot over par, she carded one of two even-par 72 rounds on the day to sit at 147 and hold a two-shot lead over Furman's Stefanie Kenoyer and Campbell's Mary Mattson.
Sunday's final round is a shotgun start set for 9 a.m. UNCG's groups will being play at holes 6, 7, 8 and 9.
