UNCG cards a 299 to close out Landfall Tradition, finishes 12th
WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNC Greensboro recorded its best round of the weekend, carding a team total of 299 on the final day of the prestigious Landfall Tradition.
Erica Creed was UNCG’s best golfer on Sunday, shooting a final round one-over par 73. Freshman Lauren Smith was right behind her with a round of 74.
Wake Forest easily won the team championship. Leading by 23 shots to open the day, the Demon Deacons won by 28 shots with a final total of 880. Ohio State was second at 908, followed by Michigan. UNCG finished 12th with a score of 963. The Spartans’ Sunday score of 299 was tied for the third best team score on the day behind Wake Forest and East Carolina.
Wake Forest’s Delores White won the individual title, shooting a 70 on Sunday to finish at 218. She was two shots better than East Carolina’s Abby Bool.
UNCG is finished for the fall portion of its schedule. It will resume with the spring portion of the slate on February 15 at the Qdoba Challenge in Miami, FL.
