CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Sofia Aidemark and Erica Creed led UNC Greensboro with rounds of 75 in the final day of the Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Club on the UNC campus Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans finished 18th with a team total of 958, carding a round of 313 on Sunday. Wake Forest won the team title with a score of 876, 12 shots better than tournament host North Carolina. The Demon Deacons had three players in the Top 10 to coast to the win.
There was a three-way tie for the individual title between Wake Forest’s Jean Chua and Natalie Sheary and North Carolina’s Catherine O’Donnell. A playoff was not played between the trio who all finished the weekend at even par 216.
Both Aidemark and Creed enjoyed their best rounds of the tournament on Sunday. Aidemark, a junior from Sweden, had 13 pars to go along with four bogeys and a birdie for her round. Starting on No. 18, Creed, a sophomore from Kernersville, NC, was three under through eight holes, but a bogey on No. 8 and a double bogey at No. 9 brought her back to even. She finished out her round at three over.
UNCG returns to action next Sunday when the Spartans host the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic.
